Our Story
Eastcoast Research was founded in the early 1970s with the purpose to provide clients with exceptional recruiting services in the Wilmington, North Carolina area. At that time, recruiting services were much more laborious than today’s methodologies including in-person communication, hand dialing of telephones and door-to-door surveying. Wilmington was also a growing market, attracting many corporate businesses with the opportunity to expand into unknown area.
There were significantly less market research firms 40 years ago than there are today, providing Eastcoast Research the opportunity to provide clients with data collection services in other smaller markets around Wilmington including Fayetteville, New Bern, Greenville, Jacksonville and the Outer Banks areas.
Over the years, Eastcoast Research has dedicated time and resources to maintain and expand its database both in size and depth. Our database began as a consumer list but evolved into a digital representation of NC, including respondents of all ethnic and socio-economic groups; public opinion leaders, bankers, executives, farmers, military personnel, medical professionals, and engineers. Each project was a challenge but was overcome by perseverance. Eventually, a fully-operational focus group facility was built to facilitate all types of market research projects from mock jury trials to IDIs.
Central North Carolina
By the mid-2000s, Eastcoast Research was faced with another opportunity – to expand in a new permanent market. Another fully-operational focus group facility was built in Greensboro, North Carolina, opening the door for more market expansion in the Piedmont-Triad area including High Point, Winston-Salem, Burlington and rural counties north and south of Greensboro.
Entire State Expansion
Since the company was founded, Eastcoast Research specialized primarily in conducting research in our coastal and central Carolina markets. However…
We quickly realized our clients wanted us to expand our capabilities across the entire state of North Carolina. Eastcoast Research began initiatives to develop recruiting databases in all remaining markets of North Carolina. We expanded in the two largest NC markets, Charlotte and Raleigh, including surrounding suburban areas. We also established database coverage in the western region of the state to cover cities such as Asheville and Hendersonville.
It has been our goal to have the knowledge, experience and database coverage to provide clients with quality, articulate respondents for quantitative and qualitative studies anywhere in North Carolina. The size of our database has grown every year, our methods in finding quality respondents are becoming more efficient and the services we provide our clients are increasing.
We are very excited to offer our clients recruiting services throughout the entire state of North Carolina and will continue to expand into other markets.
